General Telecom Plc was founded in 1962 under the name GEC (Telecommunications) Nigeria Limited as a Nigerian branch of GEC UK and later changed to GPT (W/A) Limited in 1989 when the telecom businesses of GEC and Plessey were merged internationally to form GPT Limited in the United Kingdom.
Owing to major changes in the ownership structure of the company coupled with diversification of its businesses in 1997, the company name was now changed to General Telecom Plc.
General Telecom Plc has since become a significant supplier and provider of varied telecommunications, information technology and electronics systems and solutions to the Nigerian Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.
Our innovative approach, tailored solutions and emphasis on customer service are the cornerstones of our success in today’s competitive telecommunications market.
